Late Notice: A Clockwork Orange Screening in Raleigh, NC

Yes, this 1971 classic is a bit too demented for some folks, but it remains one of my favorite all-time films. My friend Bilge Ebiri, a filmmaker in New York, thinks Stanley Kubrick's 1975 film "Barry Lyndon" is the legendary director's materpiece, but with its length it is assuredly not better for midnight screenings.

"A Clockwork Orange" also features a cameo from David Prowse whom most folks know as Darth Vader. I had a chance to meet him at a comic book show in Charlotte several years ago.

The film stars Malcolm McDowell, and it's based on the novel of the same name by Anthony Burgess.

It screens tomorrow night at the Colony Theatre in Raleigh,NC, at 11:45 p.m. Yes, I know that's quite a drive from either Provo, Utah, or Belfast, Maine, so get in your car or airplane now:) And, if you can't_ well the film is available on dvd.
