I'm not sure who is keeping the Facebook account for the most famous fowl in Marvel Comics history, but nevertheless I am now friends with Howard the Duck!
Alas, Howard's creator Steve Gerber died an untimely death at the age of 60 in a Las Vegas back in February.
Howard first hit comic book stands in 1975, when Gerber was still in his mid-twenties. Last year, a new edition of the character came out though it lacks the wit and humor of the original series, which Gerber also penned.
According to Howard the Duck's account, his birthday was on November 12, 1926, and he is listed as a alum of Case Western University in Cleveland, which is where Howard the Duck stories take place.
We won't mention the "Howard the Duck" movie which came out in 1986.
And, perhaps Christopher Knight might be stoked to know that Howard the Duck is supporting Ron Paul for president. I am still unsure about who to vote for between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the North Carolina Democratic Primary, so perhaps the input of a fictional character really could matter! The closest thing I can of is the fact that former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan has endorsed Obama!
