Last week, I had the chance to watch the 2004 documentary on avant garde singer Klaus Nomi who was one of the first celebrities to die of AIDS at the age of 39 in 1983.
The film is definitely a bit depressing, but there is no mistake that Nomi left an ever-lasting impression and hopefully this film will continue his artistic legacy for those of us who were too young at the time to be fully aware of it.
I found this 1981 performance of his song "Total Eclipse" on Youtube, which was recorded at the Ritz in New York in 1981. It is quite stunning!
