My friend Julie Campbell of Reidsville, NC, suggested that those of us who are interested in writing come up with some 'hooks' to get us started with the creative process.
A hook refers to something catchy that starts off a story.
He are three related hooks that I submitted to her. To date, no story has been penned with any of them!:
1. The Make-A-Wish children fell asleep watching "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."
2. My father was asleep in his chair as pro wrestling was on tv and the family cat was knocking over his Civil War chess pieces.
3. John had fallen asleep not realizing that his wife Mary was at The Golden Dragon with Steve the plumber who had been coming over to fix an awful lot of problems with the toilet lately.
