Notes from the Blogosphere

Since it is a another dreadful Monday morning, and I want to grab something to eat at Biscuitville, I thought I would write a blog entry about other blogs.

For starters, my friend Moviezzz in Springfield, Mass., has a great review of a Broadway revival of the George Bernhard Shaw play "Pygmalion." It is now in previews at the Roundabout Theatre Company in New York.

The cast includes the ever-gorgeous Claire Danes, who starred in the Steve Martin film "Shopgirl." Danes plays Eliza Dolittle in the play, which is the original drama version of "My Fair Lady." Joining her in the cast are Jefferson Mays as Henry Higgins, Boyd Gaines as Col. Pickering and Jay O. Saunders as Liza's father. the production is directed by acclaimed stage director David Grindley.

Moviezzz says that Mays is the clear star of the production, as he plays Higgins as an obnoxious spoiled brat. He adds that Mays reminds him of a skinnier version of Nathan Lane.

Moviezzz, who admits to being a huge Danes fan, was impressed by the movie star's Broadway debut, which he says is a believable, compelling performance.

Blogger Christopher Knight of Reidsville, NC, a political libertarain, talks about his letter-to-the-editor in today's edition of the Greensboro daily "The News and Record."

Knight has the following excerpt from his letter:

"I live in Rockingham County. I've watched elected officials in my own backyard trample on the Constitution; from a school board member suing citizens for practicing the right to petition, to a city council banning new churches."

Knight's blog also features a Youtube video from a classic "Sesame Street" episode: "Ernie Counts Sheep."

Knight also has a picture of a new Star Wars action figure showing Hans Solo in a torture chamber.

And, down the road in Greensboro, the local Gate City Blog, features a commentary questioning the choice of Jessica Biel, who was surprisingly awesome in "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.," as the new Wonder Woman in a proposed Justice League movie.

If anyone knows of any other cool blog stories out there, feel free to email me at turkam@yahoo.com
