For those who think there is nothing in Lynchburg, Va, except Liberty University and the Lynchburg Hillcats (a minor league baseball team), I would normally say: "hmmmm....well, uhm...........yeah, I gues you have a ....."
But, since my own mother Lila Sullivan will be among the antiques dealers for the 2nd Annual Lynchburg Antiques Show at the Holiday Inn on Main Street, I will have to proclaim that Lynchburg is the second most happening place in the world after Rock Hill, SC (which is mom's hometown).
The show takes place from Oct. 26 to Oct. 28, with an admission fee of $7 per person, though anyone holding a $1 coupon can get in for $6, and if you agree to buy my Roy Rogers lunch box (which we've been trying to sell forever), I might pay my way for you myself.........or at least ask mom if she can pay for your admission fee.
The event takes place at The Holiday Inn on 601 Main Street Lynchburg, Va., 24502.
The gates open Friday at 6:00 p.m. On Sat., the show starts at 10 a.m., and on Sunday you will have time to visit the Thomas Road Baptist Church (there is actually a liberal Unitarian church in Lynchburg too!) and still come in when the doors open at 11 a.m.
The antique show will feature furniture, textiles, silver, linens, comic books, brass ware, English porcelains, prints, Chinese exports and vintage postcards.
The event is sponsored by Pineapple Promotions of Charleston, SC- Stephen Colbert's hometown. All my Republican friends, like Morgan Griffith, should take note that I myself will probably not be there........unless mom reads this blog!
