Plan B Theatre Presents "Gutenberg! The Musical"

My friend Jerry Rapier of the Plan B Theatre Company in Salt Lake City, Utah, directed a stirring drama called "Facing East," which I was fortunate enough to see while I was there this spring.

The group returns to the stage with a new production starting Nov. 16 (runs through Dec. 30) entitled "Gutenberg! The Musical!"

A postcard from the theatre is promoting the play as an off-Broadway hit which is a wacky musical about the inventor of the printing press, Johann Gutenberg.

The musical is not actually about him as much as it is about Bud and Doug, who've written an epic about him..."Waiting for Guffman" style, according to the postcard.

The play will be performed at the Studio Theatre at The Rose in downtown SLC.

For more info, one can call (801)-355-ARTS.

The play was written by Scott Brown and Anthony King.

I'm not sure how many 'subscribers' I have in Utah, but I hope the mention of the play helps attendance. After all, those reality tv shows (which are due to increase because of the Hollywood writers strike) should be getting pretty old soon_ if they aren't already!
