Reaction to Fred's appearence on Meet the Press |
- Blogs for Fred Thompson:
Fred Thompson's appearance today on Meet the Press is a classic example of everything there is to say about Fred Thompson's campaign for President.
Fred answered every question with great calmness, strength and -- HONESTY. Americans can see from this appearance that Fred does not say what he thinks either the interviewer or the listeners want to hear. He says what he believes. Americans and members of the press (they don't have to be mutually exclusive)are just not used to hearing someone like Fred run for President. The press has become so cynical and focused on "gotcha" journalism since Watergate that when they see someone like Fred they just don't know what to think or do. So, in the case of the press, they do what they do best. They focus on what they believe are the "gotcha moments" of the interview.

Most likely, the only way abortion will ever diminish is if Roe Vs. Wade is overturned. Fred Thompson agrees that this Supreme Court decision was a bad one. It was this decision that put the issue of abortion in the Federal government hands in the first place.
- Hugh Hewitt:
Senator Thompson hit exactly the right note on Iran on this morning's Meet The Press, and Tim Russert did a great job in giving the looming confrontation with Iran the time it deserves.
Any American who doesn't understand Thompson's reference to the "12th Imam" should blame the MSM for a fundamental failure to report the crucial facts about the mullahs and their operatives, their ambitions and their ideology.
