Kidlit and Politics.....

This is the 538th entry in my blog that was started on Sept. 21, 2005. Amazingly enough, with the exception of some Youtube videos that were placed by my friend Terry Williams of Danville, Va., everything else is more or less either my work or my idea.

However, I have always wanted the input of other people. And, today, my friend Randolph Sternberg (pseudonym) of Boones Mill, Va., submitted this idea to me about where children's authors stand politically:

"With Super Tuesday looming, let's go political and ask:
Is the Lorax a Republican or a Democrat?

You might assume he's a tree-hugging liberal, but that sweet, sweet Seuss money has been going mostly to conservatives. Dr. Seuss' widow Audrey has in fact been repeatedly helping Cong. Brian Bilbray  (R-Cal.) who according to Wikipedia: 'attempted to build a yacht marina in the Tijuana Estuary and to build a 1.5 mile breakwater off to the beach of Imperial Beach. Both projects were stopped by local environments and surfers.

Who's helping the Democrats? Lemony Snickett (for those of you who remember the movie version) and he's outspending Mrs. Seuss. In 2004, he donated $10,000 to the Democrats.

Similarly, another children's author Mo Willems  and his wife also backed the Democrats in 2004 and 2006."

Ok, that's the last of today's three entries. Now to either look for a good-paying job on craigslist or get dressed.........

The fairy tale is over.

Obama's pixie dust is wearing off.

A few in the corporate media are finally starting to reveal some details about this man's judgment.

I speak of Obama's long association with his spiritual advisor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Obama says he didn't know Wright was far, far left. While that is hard to believe, it says that Obama is not a very discerning judge of character. And it shows poor judgment for a presidential candidate to allow such an extremist to serve on his campaign.

Rev. Wright says AIDS was created by the US government to kill black people.

Come on!

"I didn't know about that man, Rev. Wright." Is that what Obama is telling us?

But there is more to come.

Obama's friend, William Ayers, is an unrepentent terrorist.

An Obama fund raiser, Rashid Khalidi, supports terrorists.

Wait till these tidbits come out. Maybe they won't release them till after Obama wins the nomination.

These associations with radicals show that Obama does not yet have the judgment nor the experience to be at the top of the ticket.
