Spedcial Quote of the Week from Tom Stoppard

Alas, the great playwright Harold Pinter (1930-2008) is no longer with us, but his contemporary Tom Stoppard sure is. Here is one of his quotes:

"If an idea's worth having once, it's worth having twice."

Quote of the Week- Bing Crosby

Today's quote of the week is from the late crooner Bing Crosby, who sang an unlikely duet with David Bowie for the Christmas song "Little Drummer Boy."

A quote from Bowie is on our sister blog "The Daily Vampire."

Here is a quote from Bowie:

"My golf is woeful, but I will never surrender."

Quote of the Week- John Milton

Since I dropped a course on Engligh poet John Milton (of "Paradise Lost" fame) in mid-semester during my college years at Radford University in Radford, Va., because it was basically hard as hell, I have decided to make him the subject of my quote of the week.

This quote comes to us from today's edition of "The Roanoke Times" in Roanoke, Va:

"A grateful mind.
By owing owes not, but still pays at once.
Indebted and discharged."

Quote of the Week- William Styron

He was the author of "Sophie's Choice" and "Nat Turner's Rebellion." He died a few years ago. I had the opportunity to meet Styron in Charlottesville, Va.

Here is the quote:

"I think it's unfortunate to have critics as friends."

There is a quote from William S. Burroughs on my sister blog "The Daily Vampire."
